then closest in genre and geography I would recommend would be 'Someone Has to die Tonight"....story of the Lords of Chaos /Kevin Foster rampage and murder in Fort Myers, Florida..

Is Fort Meyers near Broward County?

well,depends what you call close, not exactly...Myers is SW Gulf coast, Broward is 20mi north of Miami..SE Atlantic coast..
Myers is Lee County

all southern tropical Florida, though..all disaffected youth..it would not take long to drive across from Lauderdale, West to Ft Myers..

I've heard it is now a movie, but have not seen it, it is numerous 48 Hours and NBC Dateline style crime docu series, though..

Someone Has to Die Tonight was a stupid book. It was poorly written merely for sensation.

A good book to read is by M. William Phelps, And Never See Them Again.
