Bush in 93
I am starting this thread because there was another one along this line that was deleted.
The OP noted that far more women did not shave or trim back then, which was his experience in dating. That was also mine. Since then women have trimmed or shaved themselves in far greater numbers. I have been in a relationship since 2008, but from the late 90's until I entered my relationship I cannot think of a single woman I dated who did not at least trim.
What was funny is that this was a fairly innocuous observation on the part of the OP. He was simply passing on his experiences and how they have changed over the years. It sparked angry responses among some illogical people. One poster said something stupid like 'see a real woman naked and then you will know' or something idiotic like that. The funny thing is, obviously the OP has done seen plenty of women. He is merely passing along an observation he has made over the years, an observation which is true in my experience and in the experiences of just about every man I know in Southern California. An observation should not provoke such anger. I can't remember the last time I saw a woman who was extremely hairy. I became sexually active in the early 90's, and grooming habits have certainly changed.
I don't see why this observation upsets people. They must be emotional and irrational. As to how this relates to the movie, the girls here don't appear to shave much. They are not all that hairy, and perhaps they are grooming more than I think, but that is the way it seems to me. Who knows. Regardless, things have changed. However, I wonder whether this was a specific decision by Larry Clark to be consistent with the time period or whether that was just the way the actresses groomed themselves? The funny thing is, they were playing eminem in the movie, so they were obviously not trying to be too period with the film. I don't know, maybe it was just the actresses and their personal habits. Perhaps Larry Clark did not direct them to let things grow a bit, or perhaps he did, I don't know.
For the record, there is nothing wrong with men preferring nicely groomed women, something I prefer myself. I am not into women who are extremely hairy. There is also nothing wrong with women preferring men who shave their pubes, something which I believe is more popular now than it used to be. But the angry responses to that thread were pretty funny. Obviously the OP hit some sort of nerve among women who are not particularly well coiffed.
