I haven't read the book or anything about the true story, but in the movie the motivation and character continuity seems a bit wack. I mean Lisa doesn't seem all that bothered about her lover's abuse and is in fact blase about her friend's rape. THEN she innitiates a murder plot. Surely I must have missed something.

she IS bothered by it, but sees it as part of the Bobby problem. That Marty when he is a POS to her, is channeling Bobby.

This is half what whole deal is about.
she will never have the --real-- Marty , until the Bobby cancer is cut out.

Nah youre right. The motive for murder is barely there or it's just poorly portrayed by the actors.
