The broken penis scene...

... is the absolute lowest point the history of cinema has ever reached.

Hell, it's all uphill from here.

It is possible to break your penis, just very rare. It happened on an episode of scrubs recently.

hopefully scrubs isn't where you get all of you medical advice. that would be sad. its a tv show. the fact that you say that a penis can be broken because you saw it on an episode of scrubs is like saying it could happen because you saw it in the new guy. scrubs is not a reliable source of medical information. this movie sucked ass.

Lest we forget the penis caught in the zipper of There's Something About Mary's Ted? Or for that matter, the cum in the hair bit? How much did that movie make again? Oh that's right, just under 100 million...DOMESTIC!

If penis breaking jokes make a film suck ass, or cause it to lower the bar, I'm afraid the bar's been scraping the planet core for years.

And I'm relatively sure I read that Scrubs uses realism in terms of the medical side of the show, ala ER. They do have a medical advisor. I'd say it's as realistic to believe a condition exists because it was on Scrubs, as much as it is because it was on ER. I'm not saying it's a reliable source for medical info, but it's at least someplace to start researching a condition, even (what is inaccurately referred to) as breaking a penis.

The less a man makes declarative statements the less apt he is to look foolish in retrospect.

Compared to "The Real Cancun", this is actually 100 times better. Now THERE is the lowest point in cinema history.

It is in fact possibly to "break" your penis, just not in the usual sense of "break". The penis isn't actually "broken" like a bone, but the organ is damaged from being bent too far. The tissue is damaged; you might call it a "sprain" rather than "broken".

I know what you are saying. But- after reading your comment you just take away your statement of "It is in fact possibly to "break" your penis." Because after you read it you say its more like a sprain which isnt even close to a break, therefore proving it is not possible to break one's penis. You can't break it, when there is no bone to break. It can be sprained which is painful and damages the tissue, but its not a break. It was suppose to be funny. It is a comedy and for people to attack how it couldnt happen is just stupid. Most things in comedies are not exactly possible but happen. I agree with an earlier statement that talked about not using "scrubs" as a reliable source. Besides being fiction, its a comedy. "er" would be a better source, because its a drama. Either way. if you dont like the movie fine, but just know its a comedy and dont be so anul of what cant happen. Lighten up.

from http://www.mypleasure.com/education/qanda/questions/19.asp

"However, when it (the penis) is erect, the penis becomes quite hard. Three tubes (known as the corposa cavernosa) fill with blood and become almost as hard as bone. Should a man do something that would exert a great deal of sudden lateral pressure on the penis, one or more of these tubes can break (actually, "rupture" is probably the more appropriate term). The cases in the medical literature which report this are almost invariably caused by a woman trying to jump on top of a man and missing her target. Ouch.

If you are worried that you might have done this, all I can say is: You would know! The event is accompanied by a loud "popping" sound, severe sudden pain and horrible bruising. You would need to seek medical attention immediately. Unfortunately, this damage is difficult to repair, and men to whom it happens often experience some internal leakage whenever they become aroused, preventing full erections. Luckily, it is a very rare occurrence. "

Sounds painful.

So, do a websearch folks before you claim proof one way or the other. it's easy. It's definitely not the same as sprain, neither is a proper bone-break but it's more closer to that definition of "breaking something"......as obviously the damage it causes means that the term "breaking the penis" is more appropriate comparision to this than bruising or spraining a bone. The condition described here where hard-to-repair damage and instantmedical attention is way more closer to a break than a sprain. Popping sound and all. Yikes :O

It is technically called a fracture, I believe, which is probably where the word "break" came into the picture (we use break and fracture interchangably when referring to bones). I believe you can also fracture your spleen, although I've never heard it used with any other non-bone tissue.
