I mean crying after she heard Ron say "shes mental, no wonder she hasnt got any friends". Not only did she cry on the spot but she cried all day too in the toilets.

She was just a little girl so...you can understand why she was more susceptible by rude comments.

I doubt this, book or movie.

They didn't even become friends until after the troll incident. I have doubts rather they would be a happy couple anyways.

Being 11/12 years old at a brand new school, miles away from family and being slagged off for not having any friends, I dont think she overeacted at all.

It is possible that she overacted, and then again that might have hurt of her feelings. Ron should consider himself lucky that she didn't beat the tear out of him.
