Appraisal Episode

I loved that this episode was directed by Lorna Laidlaw - the wonderful Mrs Tembe herself... see, she's still around, even if it's not in front of the camera for now. 

Really enjoyed it, especially when it was Al's turn and he used defiant song tracks instead of speaking to Zara, in order to 'stick it to The Man'. Go comrade Haskey! 

I must admit, I did feel a tad sorry for Zara when she ended up being a verbal punch bag for some of the staff. At least Daniel slightly saved her in the end, but still, what a trying day for her, hehe.

Yes, it was fun - especially Al's tracks, as you say! :D

Notice how difficult Al can be and Anthony knows it but he hasn't tried to oust him out of the Mill like he did with Mrs Tembe and he's trying to with Heston? I wonder what particular criteria he has for pushing people out?

reply

Anyone who disagrees with him? And I still think he's a bit racist...in fact he just generally thinks he's superior.

I think Al was the one who disagreed with Anthony's idea of having the appraisals most of all though, LOL. Heston might have been more compliant with the new PM if he felt he was being listened to. It just feels like there's absolutely no logic in his discrimination.

One thing I can't stand about him is the face he always does whenever someone he dislikes has just left his office. You know, when he's had a victory. It's like he wants to do a little air-punch of satisfaction but he prefers to keep his composure so he ends up with a barely-there smile, but it looks like he's mildly constipated. That face.

Haha, yes...to quote Kryten in Red Dwarf, 'engaging smug mode'.

reply

Ha, brill, Mumsy, yes! 

Jessica Regan (Niamh) the other day on Twitter called it 'Anthony's death stare', which made me laugh.
