Whilst it seems to be fairly well-known that Lorna Laidlaw is going (see Digital Spy for the episode entitled 'Martians'), I had wondered about Jessica Regan as she is appearing throughout April in 'Long Day's Journey Into Night' at the Bristol Old Vic, which could be a pre-London show. With Niamh keen to visit the Ould Country might this be a way of writing her out either for the duration of the play or forever and ever.

You could be right there as Adam Astill is not included in the opening credits, suggesting that he is not a permanent character.
shareIt seems as far as social media is concerned Lorna Laidlaw is leaving on Friday. However, is she leaving the Mill or the soap?? I still can't see Mrs T as the practice manager (she lacks the experience and loquacity to deal with professional organisations such as the PCT, etc), but she is one heck of a receptionist and has the skills to be an excellent support/assistant to the Practice Manager. I don't think its time for her to go, think the actor playing Anthony Harker is doing a great job but also hoping he will be found out soon. Niamh may need a break but hoping it's a short one. Noticed that "Rob" has been doing some directing and hoping for some more from him and Karen soon.

Will be very disappointed when Jessica goes, had hoped to see her and Al reconciled. I hate these rushed exits. I hope it has more to do with her background story than this rushed romance with Ben.

I agree with you about the disappointment of how she's leaving, it does seem a little out of the blue. Perhaps we're all so used to how much warning we have with most actors who leave one of the evening soaps. With Doctors, many people have left quite abruptly. I suppose it's easier to do in a smaller production such as this.
