What's going on?
Before any one reads this and decides to start cursing me out, please note that I am in no way trying to start a fight.
I'm always hearing about how people hate the movie because it's not 100% historically correct. I know it's about the true Vlad Dracula's life, but it is a MOVIE. It is not meant as a documentary, or they would have made it one. They play this movie on the Sci-Fi channel, not the History channel. Plus, can you really expect people living in this century to get everything little thing correct about what happened about 6 centuries ago? It is impossible to get every little detail perfect, especially when a lot of the details are speculated and debated about. I have read about Vlad Dracula after watching the movie and though many things have been changed/altered or whatever, the main points have been highlighted. It explains how he got his name, his three reigns, what happened to cause him to lose these reigns, etc. Though Radu did not actually kill him, but instead died before Vlad took the throne for the third time, it still shows that Radu and Vlad were not in the best of graces after their Turkish imprisonment.
There is not one historical movie out there today that is precisely correct in it's story line. That is why it is a movie, and not a documentary. I understand that many people are upset at the faultiness in the movie, but this movie is not meant to teach people the accurate facts of Vlad Dracula's life. It may show people information they were not privy to before they watched the movie, but it is supposed to be for entertainment purposes, not something to teach a class on.
