Classical Dance Expert Wanted! :-)

Hi all!
Can anyone tell me the name of the dance that Vlad and Lidia first dance at King Janos' home? It's an absolutely LOVELY dance, and the impression given is that is was one of the popular dances taught at that time. Any ideas would be appreciated! Even if I can only get an idea of a better place to look for such information, it would still be a big help!

Thanks!

THINK....It's not illegal YET!

Do you know the name of the song that played during that song or who composed it? Thanks :-)

Hello!

It's been a while since I saw the movie, so I can't remember if it was a piece I recognized or not. Not that that matters a whole lot, we should be able to find out that piece of information with a little research. I'll do some digging, and I'll pass on anything I find, okay?

It really was a lovely scene, wasn't it? A real treat for the senses!

Take care!

Thanks. I've looked everywhere that I can think of. I've searched by the movie and the name of the person who did some music comp. for the film and have had less than no luck. hahahaha

I know that a similar dance was done by Queen Elizabeth I (daughter of Henry VIII) and the members of her court back in the 1500's. Touching the backs of the wrists, clapping the hands with sharp twists and turns, a more upbeat tempo in some. It may be the Pavane, a courtly dance for couples, originating in 14th-century Italy and fashionable in many varieties for two centuries. Its style of small gliding steps in which the feet remain close to the ground. Danced by hand-holding couples in a column, it was performed with various combinations. In the Pavane, the lady rests the back of her hand/wrist of the man with dignity.
This sounds as close as I can figure: Composer: Gabriel Faure

I am by no means an expert. I just love history.
