Ok, this is kinda random...

But say Melody hadn't run away when she found the locket. Ariel and Eric were going to explain everything to her, right? But if your mother came up to you and said 'Hey, I used to be a mermaid' would you believe her? Yeah, Melody wanted to be a mermaid but that doesn't mean she'd believe Ariel. She'd probably think she was patronising her or something.

Plus, wouldn't she have freaked out when Ariel became a mermaid again? I mean, no offence to mothers or anything, but if my mother came swimming up to me with only a bra on I think I would freak out. Just a thought.

Lol! At that part of the movie I felt scarred for life and my mum wasn't even in it (obviously). I really felt for poor Melody lol.

Oh god! this is the greatest thread Ive seen in a while... I think that Ariel should have told Melody right away about her past and even go as far as to have the king show up to say hi every now and then. Melody wouldn't have been feeling like she was lied to or caged in for no reason. I mean she goes to play with all the other royal kids and they get to play in the water you know but poor Mellody, she gets a damn 50 FOOT WALL to keep her from it...I think it was silly, they should have spilled the beans from the start.
