I have read from time to time The Little Mermaid 3 article on Wikipedia. When I look at it on Monday they posted a release date for the movie. The date they have is February 21, 2007. I am all excited to see that it will be out in about three months, but from currently being in college I hear Wikipedia is not that credible. Anyone else heard that this date is confirmed as the day the movie will be released and where did you hear it from?

HA! i definitlely noticed that too... cause the musical trailer they show, he comes out and shes like oh wow sebastain..well i forget what she says...but shes definielty like...checking him out...i even watched it twice then showed it to a few friends lol....
im hoping its a prequel when she was younger...maybe she did have a thing for sebastain..he is a musican and all lol...

I know its kinda far fetched but it would be cool if Ariel was named after her mother which is why Triton was so protective over her, or if her mother died durring childbirth. I think it would be really bitter sweet to have Ariel named after her mom, Triton is loosing an Ariel wife but gaining an Ariel daughter, which would explain why he was so protective over her. However I wonder if Ursula killed Ariels mother and blamed it on humans... which would explain Trions hatred for humans.... please tell me what you think.
shareI think the reason he is so protective of her is because she is the youngest. parents tend to baby the youngest even when they are like 50 years old to them their still the little one.

The Little Mermaid 3: Mermaids in Space
So here's the plot, yo. Ariel's daughter (whatever her name is) has a daughter of her own. Now if you remember correctly, Ariel hated living under the sea, and the fruit of her loins wanted to ditch the land A.S.A.P. for a lively aquatic existence. What's left? Her kid's kid is sick of earth all together and decides she wants to be "Out of This World." What would she give if she could live off of this planet? What would she pay to spend all day warm on the sun?
Of course, there's amusing subplots involving aliens with bad Jamaican accents and yet another random sea witch that feels the need to hurt all of these discontented mermaids. BRAVO, DISNEY! BRAVO! THESE SEQUALS ARE PURE GOLD!

I bought the DVD Special Edition of The Little Mermaid shortly after it came out and it had the preview of the third one in it. It stated that the earliest the movie would be coming out was February 2008 but I don't think they've started production on it yet so it might come out later in the year.
Also, it's more of a "prequel" than a sequel. According to IMDB's page on it, it follows the story of Ariel's mother, Athena, through Ariel's narrations.
