When she's singing in this movie, she's in the cave with her collections even though they've been destroyed by Daddy-O years ago

Wow, I like saying that!
yeah but her dad probally missed her so much that he went to the grotto and used the trident to fix everything the way his little ariel had it. I mean think about it, this is where he caught her fauning over a human statue. to him it was where the WAR began with him and his daughter. He just went back to fix it up...(magic used OBVIOUSLY) Now that Ariel was gone it was just a little way he could remember her and the adventure she brought to the ocean.

sharehe didn't destroy everything. he just destroyed the statue and some other stuff, thus ariel's collection wasn't destroyed completely and she could still pick up the "snarf blatt"..

I could see why he'd want to get rid of the statue, he wouldn't want his daughter nearly 'worshipping' a stone statue of a human (who didn't even really want the statue anyway), however maybe he didn't actually destroy everything...just a few things to get his point across.
Still though I know where they got the destruction of the grotto scene! It's inspired by a scene from a 1987 Molly Ringwald film where Molly's character 'Darcy' tells her mom & her boyfriend's parents that they were keeping their baby. Then her boyfriend's dad, played by Kenneth Mars (aka 'King Triton'), tells her off in no uncertain terms! These pictures confirm my suspictions about it inspiring the grotto scene in TLM even more.

I was totally wondering about what was going with the who grotto thing too. I don't think she could've put all the things that weren't broken back on the "shelves" in the grotto since between the time the grotto was destroyed and the time when she came back to it in the second movie, she was either human, trying not to get killed by Ursula, became human again, and trying to make sure her kid wouldn't get into the ocean so her dad or somebody else must've fixed the whole thing back to where it was after it was destroyed
And I will get him back even as he gloats. In the meantime I'll practice on less honorable throats!
