Notice Eric doesn't lose his boots
It's interesting how in the first movie Eric loses his boots so easily from being in the ocean. After his battle with Ursula, he's in the water for like 10 seconds and his boots are gone when he reaches the shore.
In this movie, Eric is in the water longer and we don't see him lose his boots. Odd.
