On the first little mermaid, while Ariel and Eric are in the boat out on their "date" and Ariel still can't speak, Eric starts to guess her name and his first guess was "Melody" and at that time Ariel shook her head in disgust of that name.. I was a bit shocked because that's what they ended up naming their daughter in the sequel, if Ariel didn't like that name so much why would they of named their daughter that?

I just played both dvds that I own limited issue and platinum edition and the vhs original with family jewls and all, all with captions on and they all say the same name MILDRED..... I hope this helps you.
