Animation on the dog, Max

I really didn't care much for this sequel, but what especially disappointed me was the animation on the dog. In the original, Max is animated wonderfully -- he reminds me so much of my old dog in the way that he prances his feet when he's excited and always tries to get in the middle of people's conversations -- so like a real dog. But there was one scene in particular in this movie where they apparently forgot to do the in-betweening! The animation of him just flashes between key poses without anything to fill in the action.

Do you mean the scene when Ariel is looking for Melody and Max follows her?
In this scene, the animation of Max was very rushed.
