I saw it quite some time ago and I was wondering if she becomes a mermaid or stays human?

stays human but can go back and forth between the two worlds.

Basically, it's just a stupid happy ending.

If I can mix Code Lyoko, Anime, Freddy, Jason, Alien, Predator, Marvel and DC together.

Actually King Triton told Melody to choose where she would like to live, and she chooses to be human. However, he never told her that she can be transformed from human to mermaid and from mermaid to human.
