Deb's meltdown -- real or fake?

As she turned away from lashing out at Culpepper, saying "you crushed my heart", she appeared to be laughing, so I have to wonder if that whole scene was manufactured for the sake of drama.

Just as I feel Sandra was paid to act extra obnoxiously to see how long it would take these idiots to vote her off.

reply

I'm not sure, but yeah, I did notice her laughing.

Would you take stipend money (no guarantee of a million) to let millions of Americans think of you as a deluded, batshit crazy lunatic? People can laugh when they are upset and frustrated so I don't think that alone means much. Sure, editors will cut out days of normal behavior to focus on the breakdowns, but that looked like one long continuous implosion that lasted the length of that challenge.

As far as Sandra goes... I thought for sure she was getting a villain's edit until her game play last night which was pretty brilliant.

reply

Yeah, I saw her laughing before the scene cut out. Probably all for show. Debbie's a bit nuts though, so you never know.

reply

Yeah it was weird that no one sitting around her seemed startled by it, like they knew she was going to do it. Also no one ever corrected her that she was the one who couldn't make it across the balance beam.

reply

She's like "oh I have good balance" so Cool-pepper's like "ok, you do it." So she does it and fails miserably, then she blames cool-pepper for encouraging her to do it... Weird for sure!

I've noticed whenever a survivor states that they're good at something right before a challenge, they end up being the opposite. So funny how often that has happened on this show.
