I am convinced the writers like characters saying "Lorelai."

I don't watch this, but my daughter has started binge-watching this in the living room. I notice that the writers try to insert the main character's name "Lorelai" as many times in an episode as they can. The mother is the worst offender:

"Somebody should tell Lorelai that Lorelai can't expect that Lorelai's X will Y. Lorelai should know this. I'll be sure tell Lorelai this next time I talk to her. Hey maid, get Lorelai on the phone."

I literally just counted 5 instances of this in 1 minute.

Lol yeah I think so too. It's a pretty unique name shared by the two main characters. I love the way Emily says it especially when it comes with an eye roll or dry tone.

Daughter is still watching... I mentioned this to her and she now notices it constantly as well. We just watched a conversation between the mother, father, daughter and granddaughter and I'm not kidding it was like every other sentence.

I've never seen anybody talk like this.

Well, one of the things I like about Chris is that he often calls her "Lor," which is a nice change. And one of the things I like about Logan is that he sometimes calls Rory "Ace." Everyone else was in love with the names Lorelai and Rory lol.

I love that too. Ace is the best nickname ever.

I'm convinced that's why I love Logan so much. Also, the way Matt says the word "Ace" is really adorable.

Agree with you both! Lor and Ace are great nicknames. I love that Logan was the original boyfriend that came up with a unique name for Rory. You are right, the way Matt would say it was perfect. I love when Rory calls Logan at 3 am in London and he answers with "Ace?!?!?" That's what he instinctively would call her before Rory.

yo i thought Rory's official name is Rorelai!
