Interesting trivia note: this movie was released around the same time as K-PAX, and both movies feature the main character (played by Spacey in K-PAX) eating an unpeeled banana.

The main difference between the two? The banana peel that Spacey ate was made out of a tasty substitute that just looked like a peel, but Replicant didn't have the budget for that, so Van Damme had to eat a real banana peel. Yuck! I guess even kung-fu stars suffer for their art sometimes.

That's because Spacey is overqualified for the job and too busy being a serious actor.

But I respect the fact that YOU find entertainment in Van Damme's body of work. The entertainment I derive from it is a whole other kind of entertainment. :-)

I bet it did not taste very good at all for him to eat the real thing but it was done very well though.

"Replicant" even if it wasn't an original idea for a movie is far better than that bullcrap rip-off called "K-Pax" and i would choose Van Damme every day of the week over that irritating & overrated Kevin Spacey.
