What's not to enjoy ?. A relatively gentle movie and a story set on a beautiful island. No oscar winning acting but it was light entertainment and quite well done IMHO. Good enough that I went out and bought a copy and have watched it a few times over which tells ME that I like it. Why is it that gentle , tastefully executed family orientated movies get such bad reviews ?.

I did too, its one of my favorites. Think it was a victim of bad timing as it came out after 9/11 when everyone's thoughts were of war and think movie is definitely an anti-war film showing the affect war has on ordinary people. Very relevant for our time though. Nobody wanted that kind of movie at that time.
