I've recently watched the movie..... And it's awesome! Even though it has a crappy drawing and an inaccurate Knuckles (He could fly in the sky! He's Sonic's bestfriend! He's a mole!) I truly appreciate it's animation and... Japanese voice acting. Yeah, I downloaded it somewhere and switch to japanese voice acting with english subtitle instead.
Hey, I quite like the english voice of Sonic... He's so funny! His accent is so nerdy! (Fav. line: I got here too late!)
Well because I don't speak japanese, I say the english version.
And I think that thosk knuckles mistakes are not exaclty "mistakes." if you watch Knuckles, he always glides, and Knuckles can glide. He never really flies upward like tails can. And he is called a mole by that girl, and she really doesn't know what she is talking about, she called him a mole by mistake. But yeah I was wondering about some of these things myself.
I havent seen either version yet, but I have heard about them. I know the Sonic games, and honestly dont think I will ever watch this movie.
From what I understand (and what I read on wikipedia) This movie was originaly intended for Teenagers like Shadow The Hedgehog. The original version included curses, more violence, sexual humor, and sonic giving "Black Eggman" the middle finger (which has been changed to index for american). Japanese Animes and TV shows always get butchered when translated to america, because we take things ment for ages 13-19 and make them for ages 5-12, look at Dragon Ball Z and Sonic X for examples similar to this one.
In cases like this, Japanese is alway better, I dont even need to see the movie to tell you that, although this seems like a dumb movie to me anyway....
Not quite true. Plenty of anime is aimed at the exact same age groups in both countries - it just happens that they have different standards of censorship.

Actually, much of the adult humor you are talking about is still in the English version. I counted the bumps on Sonic's finger in the American version, and it is almost certainly the middle finger.
