Need a sequel
Does anybody else who thinks this film i beautyful and deserve a sequel ?

No. If it would be a prequel, then the rise of Vincent Cassel's character Jean-Francois de Morangias to the dark beast holder. His process of change in Africa could be shown and the inauguration of his dark secret to nearly the whole family.

But then I do not see the point in doing a sequel.
The backstory of de Fronsac and Mani doesn't have anything to do with "Brotherhood of the Wolf"..

A good prequel would contain both backstorys - that of Fronsac and Mani meeting and becoming friends and the history of the de Morangias family, specially Jean-Francois.
Personally, I would like the Morgangias - part more, because to me Jean-Francois is the most interesting character in the whole movie.

The friendship is one important aspect of the movie. But especially regarding the title, it is anything but a good sequel (or prequel in this case) to tell the story of Mani and de Fronsac.
Because the major plot of "Brotherhood of the Wolf" is still the beast killing people. And the story of this beast should also be component of the prequel. And that is Morangias' story.
A prequel with Fronsac and Mani would make a nice movie though. But it will neither fit into the genre (this would be more an advanture movie than a mystery-fantasy-crime-movie) nor refer to the story of BotW.

No that's one reason it wouldn't work. You don't get the point, do you?
That's like making a prequel of "Matrix" about Neo's further life as a social drama, instead of making one about the development of the Matrix...

As a rule I don't like sequels, but after this movie was over I hated the fact that Mani was dead and I couldn't see them in other adventures.
A prequel would be pointless (IMO).

I disagree. I think the Brotherhood of the Wolf actually refers to Mani and Fronsac, not the beast conspiracy. There are many telling signs for this in the film.
Fronsac and Mani are blood brothers. Special mention is given to the Totem of each man, it is them made clear later that Mani's Totem is the wolf (he thanks Fronsac for stopping Marianne from killing the white wolf) then the wolves help them trap the beast. Hence Mani and Fronsac are the wolf brothers...
A prequel to the film would be about how this brotherhood was formed, about the desemation of Mani's village, his subsequent befriending of Fronsac and the killing of the captain responsible for his villages demise. The learning of the languages and the training in weaponry and martial arts.
But I think this sort of film has kind of been done before, so unless really well written I don't want it.
There can be no sequel with the way the film was left.

I don't think I was arguing with you?!? My comments were aimed at someone else who was arguing against a prequel... I think...

It is one aspect, but "The Pact of the Wolves" is a corporation which acts against the beast and its suppoerts, in other words the town council.
shareAs someone said "Le pacte des loups" or "the brotherwood of wolves" is a religious conspiracy defeated in the film.
Maybe it will be hard to name a sequel after this.
Instead it's possibile to have a prequel wich talks about the rise of the brotherwood.
Any other story could be the brotherwood of something else... :s
What I have in mind is following the character of Sylvia (Monica Bellucci) (not because italian nor because of her aspect) engaging another mission against some others brutes.
The peculiarities of the film (I mean the real) is the season tints (autumn/winter) and the variety of emotions (action mixed with romantics, sadness, thrilling, ecc...).
I really hope that some good author would create anything good making us a big surprise has the movie was (expecially the direction by the great Christophe Gans would be appreciated).
the film was beautifully made & shot. but as for a sequel? how can you have a "beast of gevaudan 2" movie when the beast itself was killed in the 1st movie? a prequel re. mani/gregoire de fronsac & jean francois/beast back story would be concievable, but i feel would mire down & taint the original movie. tis a real art knowing when to leave a good thing alone.
shareThis is a great film, but it doesn't need a sequel.
shareYou people are too hung up on the title. Its clear you can have many sequels with Fronsac in kind of a Indy/Holmes/ adventurer style series, and even have one film with a prequel to have more Mani. Just give it a different title, but keep the same characters.
shareI still think it needs a sequel/prequel/spinoff, whatever.
