Well they look Asian in the movie lol. And they have super powers of course. But it's a movie that preaches tolerance. Well at least they have a bunch of morons making a lot of stupid racist comments. Doesn't matter that the movie is not any better.

People assume that if it's martial arts, it's Asian. But martial arts have been practised, even codified, by mankind all over the world. And as we all have two arms, two legs, one head etc., there really aren't that many differences you could manage to achieve between the different systems. We see the same punches, the same kicks, the same locks in martial arts from all continents. The odd one out is Chinese Wushu, which passes for most Kung Fu you see these days. Wushu was introduced in China as part of the Cultural Revolution, with the intent to replace traditional Kung Fu. It is very stylized, and it is what you see modern Shaolin monks practice. It looks quite different from traditional Kung Fu, and is more geared toward performance rather than effectiveness.
shareI know this is an old post, but what Fronsac uses through the movie is a French martial art called Savate. It was created by French sailors in the 17th century. They often fought on ships, and since ships weren't steady they would grab all kinds of things to stay balanced and because of that mainly used their legs to kick each other in the head. It is definitely possible that Fronsac taught Mani how to fight and Mani used his athleticism to go even further.
Also, Native Americans came from Asia some 20,000 years ago and many of them look a lot like Asians.

Jakoda_Ray3: Thank you for the only post on this question that gets it right. More on this unique martial art at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savate
shareNot to mention France was a big super power at the time and was heavily involved in Asia indo china etc. Could have easily been there on their journies at an earlier time and learned things. Might even make for another interesting movie if this one wasn't so old now.
shareI enjoyed this movie quite a lot but yes, that shit was silly lol!
