I loved this movie!

It was so funny...Brad is so funny and cute...I just loved it...

It really is pretty good. Not great, but good.

So did I Alisya, it's good to see that I wasn't the only one. I think Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and all the others did a nice job. However I can't confirm if he's cute or not, that's not really what I'm looking for in an actor... Hahahaha

I adore this movie, I'm beginning to think I'm the only one. I don't get why people don't like it, it's very well-acted, well-written, beautifully shot, excellently directed, it's fun, funny, violent, wild, bizarre...I think it's just as good as anything The Coen Bros. have made (and they've made some great movies) and almost as good as any Tarantino film (the best movies made today).

Sometimes I just don't understand human beings.

I thoroughly enjoyed it! I actually cant get enough of it. Brad Pitt could not possibly get any cuter and the same holds for Julia Roberts. This is the most entertaining movie i have seen in a long time.

Is that your blood?
Some of it yeah!

Honestly! I was beginning to think that my girlfriend and I were the only ones that loved this movie! I don't understand the critics on this one, I will agree, to a certain point, with the critics most of the time. However I think they just trashed because they didn't want to like it. It had an all-star cast, it's easy to be critical. However this is one of my favorite movies. The acting is phenomenal! The screenplay is inspiring and the directing is fantastic! Gore Verbinski has only recently gotten credit as a good director with Pirates Of The Caribbean, however he used many of the same techniques in this movie, and I believe shot it better. Johnny Depp got an oscar nod for his performance in Pirates, and I know that he's an amazing actor but you gotta give it up to Verbinski's directing skills as well. Depp is a great actor, but only with great directing(i.e. Tim Burton). I think this movie was meant to be a cliche, a staple in Hollywood(The cast and script), much like Cameron Crowe's Jerry Maguire. The problem is to make such a movie is a huge risk. When critic's don't get it, or see the director's point of view, these movies will fail. But if you do get it, a cult following is sure to happen. One of the greats!

I agree, The mexican was awesome!! I love how it covers action, comedy, romance and a bit of suspence(in the story about the gun...it keeps you wondering...lol). I think the acting Brad did with his hands was a bit much but it was hilarous all the same. They did a great job of it!

I found this DVD on the $5.99 rack at a video store. I wasn't expecting much because it wasn't a big hit and everyone just trashed it. However, I was surprised at how much fun it was. The chemistry between Julia and James Gandolfini was great. Brad Pitt was so stupid and funny.

I love this movie. It's good to know that I am not the only one. A lot of people don't really like it, and I just can't understand why. The acting was great, and I really liked the story line. I like the scene where all the Mexicans were shooting into the air...and you know what happens. That scene shows that the movie is going to be full of surprises, which it was (the whole Leroy thing was a BIG surprise).

I really loved the chemistry between Sam and Leroy (Winston). There was magic in the scenes between James and Julia from the momemnt he told her she wouldn't be raped. Some of her comments to him from that moment on were just hilarious.

For me there was a little of everything, comedy (the scene where Jerry is telling the guy he has to shoot him), love, tradgedy, redemption, even honor. It reminded me of a Gabriel Garcia Marquez magical realism type story especially Naman's death at the end. The deleted scenes are great also.

yeah, it's a nice movie for me

I loved it too, mainly for the brilliance of Julia Roberts and the 'rather goodness' of Brad. To me, the film wasnt the best part, but the actors really did a great job with what they were given. The casting was amazing.
The storyline is interesting and chaotic and the script is so right.

In a nutshell-good script, great actors. The rest was mediocre.

The movie sucked. It's like everyone in the movie had half a broom stick shoved up their butt and a sniff of cocaine before they started to act. HORRIBLE!

reply

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! Sorry, i don't mean to attack YOU, but still!

I loved this movie!! We own it, for no particular reason, a present from our grandpa, I suppose, but it was great! The story and the Leroy thing, and Brad Pitt was great. Julia Roberts, i really didn't like her character most of the time, but it was a really great movie. Yay!

It used to come on the movie channels (HBO or whatever) almost everyday like 4 years ago and I'd always end up watching it. It never got old. It's such an entertaining movie with a great cast and acting.

reply

it was entertaining i'd admit. Definately a chick-flick but not terrible like i was led to beleive.

reply

It wasn't bad, had its flaws and misdirections though.
Definitely worth more than a 5.9 rating though, at least 6.5-6.9
