my tv station cut off the ending. brad pitt was just told by gene hackman that brad was a god and gene owed him one..... at a motel, julia roberts answered the phone and said brad hid the gun. a man showed up at the motel door.....

who was he? what happened to julia? did the dog save her?
The man was Nayman, who was trying to take over Margolese's operation. He locked Julia in the trunk of his car, which is how this story started- with someone locked in a car trunk. When Brad arrived, he told the man only Julia knew where the gun was. The man opened the trunk and Julia shot him with The Mexican (yes, this time it worked.) It also discharged a ring that had been lodged in its barrel. Brad gave the gun to Tropillo's (the rightful owner) men, and used the ring to propose to Julia. The dog was adopted by Tropillo, and they all lived happily ever after, except for Leroy, Winston, Frank, and Nayman, who were dead, but may have been happy in spite of that.
Also, it was cut from the movie, but Ted ended up marrying the pawnshop owner's daughter, and helped her dad establish a chain of successful pawnshops in the United States.
