We need violent cartoons for a reason.cause violence is like the soul of a cartoon if you take it away you left with a show like dora our barney.if parents whould just let there kids wacth simple cartoons like dragonball z (dubbed version) then these cartoons whould not exist.i mean whats wrong a kick in the face our a fist to the knee cap once in a while,i mean we see violence everyday in streets, schools, even subways.i mean not everythings going to be a ok in the freaking world.and as far as the learning goes thats why we have teachers for.so either suffer agian through another dora the explorer video tape and listian to that darn monkey and his girlfriend, are take my advise and let the kids watch the good stuff
See thats what im talking about,to me all shows need to have some level of violance. mild, high, are low i mean no matter how many times you parents desagree you just cant avoid the fact.
Dude, WAY too much stuff now is violent, take a look at things like Cartoon Network. Things today are in 3 flavors: violent, vulgar/risque, or anime. What happened to Garfield and Friends, etc? And now you're asking for MORE violence? It's the soul of a cartoon-wrong, HUMOR is the soul of a cartoon. When you take any cartoon and make all-out violent, you get something weak and air-space taking like Dragon Ball or whatever.
Sorry pal, but if you think the thing to save cartoons is to put violence in them, go see a good Italian chef.

Hey, I don't really like this cartoon either, knowing it's rather stale and repetitive, and that Swiper is one of the most stereotyped villians about like on Grim and Evil, but whoever says there should be more violence on cartoons, ESPECIALLY when they go and claim it's the soul of a cartoon and start bashing peaceful ones is really talking about their next psyharitist (spelling?) appointment.
Ha! Always wanted to say that.

Wouldn't, as in any other form of media, ENTERTAINMENT be the soul of a cartoon? Be it a humoristic or adventurous, we basically watch 'em to entertain ourselves.
I don't think violence per se is the problem, it's sanitized violence. Violence is dirty, messy, gory, not at all fun. Optimus Prime died so kids could see that!

Come on now youll know youll hate pbs.the only time youll watch it is when your little brother or sister is watching, why hack thats the only way i know about it.dora the explorer fans bring it, dora the explorer haters follow me.
Ok tell me this if you had no kids or babys in your house hold whould you even know about dora the explorer or any other pbs show for that matter, thats just how bad this show is.sure there is a thing as to much violance but there is such a thing as to much niceness like i said before not everything in the world is going to be ok.I mean do you want your child to think that everyone is going to be nice to them, shows like dragonball z even out niceness and violance and give your child a since of balance of the world, sure energy beams might not come out of your hand but its like talking monkeys or foxs are real either.violance might not be the soul of the cartoon but neither is niceness.

Seriously, if you want a good show for younger kids, watch the old Sesame Street (If you can find it.). It leaves "Dora" (and most other kids shows) in the dust (What the heck is up with Maisy? She doesn't even talk, she screams bloody murder in jibberish.).
This calls for a combination of psychology and extreme violence!
