Peter Sarsgaard was a standout in this otherwise mediocre movie. He looked truly heartbroken when he confronted Val Kilmer's character about not liking him. I wish Mr. Sarsgaard was in more movies, he's a great actor.
You wish he was? Did you recently come across a magical wish-granting gnome? Because, if you really haven't noticed, he's in a bunch more movies. By my count, six this year alone.
I'd honestly have to agree with him. To be fair, the last 15 or so minutes were really good, however, it seemed to me that the entire rest of the movie was trying to be requiem for a dream, and just not doing it as well.
Yeah, same here, when (as already mentioned) he said "thanks for not laughing at me", when he showed the tattoo, and that whole scene where he thought the main character didn't like him, they all almost brought a tear to my eye, it was sad, but beautiful, I also loved the scene in the end where he was running with him besides the stretcher, and they smiled at each other ,so.. beautiful.
Watching this movie the other night and I couldn't stop thinking what a great friend he was to Danny. If everybody had a friend as devoted as Saarsgard's character in this film, the world would be a better place.
