What was she spraying? spoilers?

At the end when the son walks in, she keeps trying to spray something at him. I must've missed something because I had no idea what it was. So what was it exactly?

I wondered that myself. The only thing I could come up with was a pepper-spray-like substance, or something to debilitate him so that she could attack him as well. This is the only thing that made sense to me. If anyone has any other ideas, please share because I'm still not sure either.

I assumed it was something to paralyze him or something, but as far as I could tell they never mentioned it and there was nothing to indicate what it was. Personally, I think she should've used a needle or two and stabbed the son from behind; would have probably worked better.

Yeah, if there was any indication of what it was I missed it. Plus, whatever it was didn't seem to harm him or anything, so who knows? And you're right, you'd think she would have had a more creative way of gaining control over him.

Perhaps it was mace. Anyway, WHATEVER it was, it was ineffectual, obviously, and the son got the last laugh, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.

It was actually pretty comical the way she went at him & he just stared at her.

I thought that was kind of awesome. Usually in horror movies the killer has magical drugs that knock people out just smelling them, despite the fact nothing like that exists - you'd need to apply it to a cloth and really make them breathe it deep. So the fact he was just staring with "WTF?" all over his face was realistic.

It was also realistic that he'd be a fair fight for a tiny girl like this, that despite being the killer, wasn't bestowed super powers. I have to admit I was laughing and saying "This will be an awesome ending if the son utterly kicks her ass."

Then he drop kicks her down the entire flight of stairs. Movie /delivered/.

I assumed pepper spray, but it could have been something worse.

It was not pepper spray for sure They would both be quickly affected by it, coughing a lot.

Ye it didn't seem to be pepper spray, they would've both been choking up with the way she was spraying it all over the place. It was probably some sort of chloroform or some of that paralyzer fluid she gave to the dad.
