Scorpions

I love this film but what's the deal with the CGI scorpion fight? It was nice though

It is a symbol for the battle beween Mike and Murph. As you can see the stronger scorpion (representing Murph) almost beats the weaker one (representing Mike), until the weaker one makes a comeback and in the end beats the stronger one.... just like what occurs in the movie between Mike and Murph.

Please ask any other questions in my ASK ME ANY QUESTION ABOUT THIS MOVIE thread.

Oh I get it. 3000 Miles to Graceland used cheesy CGI scorpions set to butt rock music as the silliest and most ridiculous form of allegory in film history. Nice job fellas!

By the end of the film, I completely understood that the Scorpions were a foreshadowing of what would happen between Michael and Murphy. But I still think that they were a misstep in an otherwise great film.

When you look back at the Scorpions sequence after seeing the whole film, it makes sense. But before you know anything, the Scorpions sequence seems ridiculous, and it really gets the film off to a bad start. It basically puts the audience in a critical mood for the rest of the film. Once they see it, they think, "This movie is going to be stupid," and then their perception of the rest of the film is negatively affected.

they missed a great opportunity by not having a kickass Scorpions song blaring over that CGI intro
