I remember seeing the original on late-night TV when I was babysitting one night as a kid. Blew my little teenage mind!!

Just watched the original - found it quite boring and unfunny. The 2000 version is really underrated.

I think they are both funny and charming in their own ways.
They are also both VERY much artifacts of the time and place they were made.
(I said more about this aspect in my review...)

Just saw the original myself. Huge disappointment.

The comic timing was off, the jokes were over-stretched and the inclusion of (entirely unfunny) rape jokes really sickened me.

It’s kind of funny. I found out just now when I did a search for this movie. Strange, right?
