Brendans Acting....

This has to be one of his most succesful and varied roles he has chosen, his acting ability to potray at least 7-8 different styles was EXCEPTIONAL...from speaking Colombian and Russian, to the overly sensitive softy, the sporting Yank accent etc etc he really outdid himself and showed what a great actor he is....I wish he did more roles like this and didn't take himself too seriously.

This is Brendan's best movie, I never liked The Mummy movies.

I thought the sequel to The Mummy was better than the original. Sure it's not a good movie, but as far as cheesy goofy movies go I thought it was especially entertaining. (Unlike the first Mummy movie which I found intensely boring.)

Still, I think things like "Bedazzled" and his small role in the "Scrubs" series really make me wish he was more sought-after in Hollywood. He just seems to be in throwaway junk these days...

omg i love The Mummy and The Mummy Returns!!!! what are you guys talking about???

lol at speaking Columbian

You're joking right? This is one of the worst acted movies ever. Brendan Frazer is one of the worst actors evers and thoughout this movie, he couldn't get rid of that dumb look

The acting could have been Shakespearean quality and still not made up for the godawful script. Forget this waste of time and see the 1967 original with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

reply

I presumed you were joking before I saw all the people agreeing with you, this film was a disgrace and his acting was shocking.

i like the guy;

he's been versatile and his favorability factor is high in MHO >

Great acting indeed, him as the Colombian drug lord was my favorite.

I agree completely i watched this because i heard it was a remake of the old bedazzled, which i had already seen, but i love this version better because i love Frazor he is such a great actor
He rips it in the drug Lord scene, the sensitive guy and the basket ball scene, i also love him being the author i thought he was really good in that as well

Its amazing how he could be so many people in one movie
Not many actors/actresses can do more than one role

I too hope he makes another movie where he plays some really funny different characters, come one writers we need a good script for Frazor :D

I think the prob is that he DOESN'T take himself seriously. He clearly has the chops, but I think acting is mostly just fun and money for him...because he can. I don't think he's looking to be an "arteest".

That said, there's a great dramatic role he plays in a film called "The Air I Breathe". It's an anthology, so there's an ensemble cast, but it's really good IMO. I didn't like Gods and Monsters, but that's another dramatic role that shows his range.

I'm a big fan of this and Blast From the Past. Very underrated films. Also...Airheads...LOL. Fraser, Adam Sandler and Steve Buscemi as a metal band who hijack a radio station to get their tune heard. CLASSIC.

Don't pay attention to ratings...look what this great film gets.

I entirely agree with ya. He rocks in this movie.

I also agree. A comedy like this is never going to reap any rewards award-wise which is a real shame. The film industry is too snobbish to reward anything like this. Sean Penn does a soft gay smile in Milk and gets rave reviews. Ben Kingsley acts like a childish idiot shouting in Sexy Beast and people think he's a genius. Sometimes when an actor is playing a real life person and the film is 3 hours long, you don't even have to watch it. You just know nominations are pending.
I think Fraser in this was incredible. Accents, personas, emotions. He was amazing. And to be genuinely funny too was some feat. Many people won't take this post seriously because it's just a comedy.
