Did Milo actually drink nitrglycerin, or were they still just joking?
Because when they first make fun of him, I thought it was just a joke, but then when he said "Too bad we don't have any nitroglycerin, hey, Milo?", it kind of confused me.

They were still joking. They're kind of making fun of him because of the way he acted.
"Frying pans! Who knew right?"
And you'd most certainly know that you were drinking it since I assume you'll realize it doesn't taste like water.
Basically they were just continuing the joke with Milo, he didn't really drink it.
