This is just like Max Payne!!!

I watched this movie last night and I loved it. There was stuff that reminds me of a game, Max Payne, I'm a big fan of this game. I realized how much Max Payne and Joseph had in common, it was also a noir story, just like in Max Payne. Both guys seem to have psychological torture, Max Payne losing his family and other friends, Joseph has many close people around him killed also, they both fall into hallucinations, Max Payne in his horrible nightmares, running around him house like a maze and Joseph running around his nightmares, like the hospital. They are both in their own personal hell. Joseph definitely reminds of Max Payne, and they act the same, they sound the same IMO and I'm starting to think they look alike. Max Payne fans should see this movie. Maybe Max Payne was based off this movie.

Wait until you see Hellraiser: Hellseeker, the main character IS Max Payne!

"Guess what dillholes, Max Payne reminds you of this, not the other way around!

This movie was out well before Max Payne."

1. That would completely depend in what order you encountered "Hellraiser: Inferno" the film and "Max Payne" the game. It just so happens that I played "Max Payne" before I watched "Hellraiser: Inferno".

2. Who are you to correct me or insult me?

Were you dropped on your head as a baby? Haven't you heard of VHS and DVD? You see it allows us to watch something years later after it has been released. Halloween (1978) came out before Scream (1996), doesn't mean I saw them in that order does it?

I played Max Payne, a year after it's release. Then I watched Hellraiser: Inferno on DVD!

If you still don't understand, you're a moron.

just take what you said literally and then slap yourself for stupidity.

the game reminds you of the movie is correct because "remind" implies that the latter came before the former.

if we are being strict, the movie character foreshadows the game, the game reminds of the movie.

but its also a figure of speech, which means that really, it does depend on the order they saw it, whichever they saw last reminds them of what they saw first.

I liked both of them too they do have alot in common.

"I liked both of them too they do have alot in common."

I agree.

Hadn't seen the movie for very long time. I finished playing the game and then I saw the movie on TV. I liked how it reminded me of MP and I really like the atmosphere of both.

There are a few similar elements, but they have less things in common than what they do have in common. First off, Max didn't make his own hell, which wasn't anywhere near as extreme as Thornes'. Second, the supernatural aspect is much different than a cop fighting criminals. Similar, in some ways. Just like? Not even close.

"Who are you to correct me or insult me?"

If you make an error, then you deserve and need to be corrected. Sometimes the error may depend entirely on one's perspective, but others it comes about because of faulty logical or not well thought out thinking.

I too was reminded of Max when watching this movie. But other than their appearance and the hallucinations and the ''film noir'' storytelling (narrating their own tale in a grim voice) the game and movie are indeed very different.

reply

And aside from his V dose, Max was really just a dreamer, not a hallucinator. Though, he does seem to have a habit of being drugged.

This was nothing like the Max Payne series. Aside from the extremely general similarities, nothing comes close to being "Max Payne" in this movie.

i remember watching this about half way through the movie i start thinking wow this guy should play max payne..ur not the only one that saw this

reply

I thought exactly the same thing, which leads to my question.
Anymore films like this with a noir overtone? I love them.

reply

i was thinking the same thing too, max payne meets silent hill/jacobs ladder. loved it, my favorite hellraiser so far.

I did start to think of Max Payne as I was watching it. I was mainly thinking that this is more of a Max Payne Movie than the actual Max Payne film. I wouldn't be too surprised if the people who made the game saw this film first.
