Heavy handed Christian propaganda

It was like one of those 60's B fire and brimstone, scare you into a good Christian lifestyle kind of flicks. It kept my attention the whole way through though...

I don't really see it myself. Josepth messes with people, and destroys his life and when faced with the truth of what he's done is tormented by it. It's not like he was an all bad person, he had shades of grey. He wanted to save a kids life, afterall. The film even debates with the Hell theme. The doctor says the box summons what some people call cenobites and other say demons. As with Emily Rose, the film offers two perspectives and asks you to ndecide what you believe.

PUKE! No, I mean it, It's like a Ron Ormond movie with a kind of USA Channel aesthetic. It seemed almost like it was created/funded by a Christian organization. It was like a paint by the numbers sinner fable. Like I said, It kept me entertained.

absolutely no propaganda, thats only your ignorance that says so. You know, it has an air of truth about it that you dont want to accept, thats your real issue about it.

The whole series is about Hell and demons.

It's a reconstruction of themes older than Christianity. If you really want to see heavy-handed moralism dealt out by callous beings, have a look into folklore. Or watch Rawhead Rex, another Clive Barker film inspired by the pre-Christian traditions.

I can see where you may get some Christian themes,
but really it's more about the choices we make and
moral decay affecting us in ways we might not
realize. As stated before, the whole series deals with
"demons" and "sins" and themes older than Christiantiy.
It did have a heavy handed message at the end compared
to most of the other entries in the series. This seemed
to imply punishment for wrong doing, something not
consistant with the original idea of the series.

Those silly christian morals and values, everyone should be snorting coke off a hookers ass while cheating on their wives. And when the hooker turns up dead, who wouldn't pin it on their partner so they get off scott free. Or beat their informant for giving them information. /sarcasm

You realize these are social norms that most people would follow right? And the ending wasn't even much of a punishment for him being bad. It was pretty much "welcome to hell, you were a horrible person in life, thanks for handing us so much ammo so we can tear your mind apart for eternity. enjoy your stay."
