Director and co-writer Scott Derrickson

Did you know that Scott Derrickson, co-writer and director of Hellraiser: Inferno (and the upcoming Excorcism of Emily Rose) is an evangelical Christian? I think it's really cool that a Christian would be involved in the horror industry. It shows that Christians like us don't just read Family Circus all day and think about how much we love Dubya. Scott Derrickson obviously has a real personality and isn't afraid to think about the darker side of the spiritual world. Anyway, that's all I wanted to point out. Thanks.

Check out this interview of him, where he discusses a bit of what it's like being a Christian in the horror industry, and what he wanted to do with Hellraiser: Inferno.

Yeah, wonder why this Hellraiser sucks compared to the first 3? Wonder why Emily Rose was a pathetic horror movie especially inferior when you watch the original Exorcist or Exorcist III? Christians do not belong in the horror genre, they need to stick with shows like 7th Heaven. This guy also wrote the Urban Legends sequel, nice! And the cenobites have a concept of good and evil and it's that they're completely evil or lack all good. They're as unadulterated as innocence in their evil. Part 3 is underrated and at least had some awesome gore and the oh soooo sexy Paula Marshall. Someone who fears an entity as real as Count Chocula would be afraid to do a real horror movie.

Actually, William Peter Blatty, who wrote The Exorcist, is a lifelong practicing Catholic.
