Inferno & Deader are two underrated Masterpieces.

I've always thought that Inferno(Hellraiser 5) & Deader(Hellraiser 7) are some purely and simply underrated Masterpieces from the franchise.
I like Hellraiser,Hellhound:Hellraiser II,Hellraiser III:Hell on Earth, & Hellraiser:Hellseeker but out of the bunch 5 & 7 truly standout as the most unique and special of the bunch.
I dislike Hellworld & Revelations.

Inferno is just a cool neo noir cop film that uses Pinhead as a moral figure.
Deader deals with a foreign location and some neat Cult sub-plot.

The reason Inferno gets so much flack(other than the lack of cenobite screen-time) is due to Pinhead being the moral figure. I see Inferno as a good movie and a bad Hellraiser movie because of that. The cenobites aren't supposed to be moral beings who chastise humans for their sins.

Deader was alright and it was nice to get back to a more Hellraiser-ish story, but I never truly understood what Winter was trying to do. I think a lot of that comes from the writer trying to merge the Hellraiser mythos with the pre-existing Deader story and not entirely succeeding.

I'm one of the few who really liked 'Inferno': I've only seen 'Deader' once and enjoyed it (-as far as I can remember). I found 'Inferno' to be an enjoyable psychological thriller/horror, which are my favourite type of films. I tend to find them more frightening than slasher/gore movies and love films such as 'Jacob's Ladder and 'Session 9'.
I think that's it...yup, I've finished!
