Ghosts Of Mars (GOM) (2001) ... Has It All:

Bad Acting.

Bad Directing,

Bad Story,

Bad FX,

Bad Red Set Design,

and Bad Techno Music.

I hope it got a RAZZIE for worst big-budget movie of 2001.

I am very grateful I never spent any money at the theatre, or on a rental DVD for this stinker. Watching it for free was painful enough.

Hey John Capenter, your BAD movies are starting to far out-weigh your GOOD movies.

Sad too, because I am from his childhood home of Bowling Green Kentucky.

$28,000,000 budget! OMG!
I almost fall out of my chair when I read it!
I wonder where they spent the $.
Films spending 10% of that budget use to have better actors, better FX and more variety of scenaries.

Seriously, anyone else posting on this thread the OP has stated before that they think Carpenter makes crap movies, so obviously this isn't the only movie of his that they don't like. GOM may have been his weakest (nah that was probably Starman) but it was still pretty good, and I thought at least at the beginning it had a pretty creepy vibe. I'd say this movie mixes the best of Carpenter's horror films with the best of his action films.

I think the movie is okay. Not a masterpiece, but just alright.

7/10 from me.
