because it's awesome and a classic, in my opinion. I'm a John Carpenter fan. To be honest, I hated it at first, but upon repeat viewing I fell in love with this film. Characters, action, dialogue, everything. Even the cheesiness. I embraced it all lol.
I want a sequel, because there were so many loose ends and they left us hanging.
I do have to agree tho that Statham as Desolation would've been awesome.
I also felt the same way the very first time I watched this one too . I didn't give it a chance on it's first viewing either . I'm glad I changed my mind on it as well ( especially since it's a John Carpenter film - which I'm also a fan of his movies too lol ) . It's definitely a movie we have to watch more than just once to fully understand the big picture on it overall . There is so many details and a lot of important dialogue that moves along quickly in this movie . It's so easy to miss the first time around with all the in between action scenes going on at the same time . I definitely agree with you ShotOfPoison there should have of been a sequel to this one because this movie did seem incomplete in certain ways and did leave us all at a huge cliffhanger .
