Clearly a few deaths missing

Or did I miss them?

Joanna Cassidy' character Dr Whitlock - gets possessed during the escape to the train sequence, then we see her Mars Ghost POV approaching the train and then nothing!?!

Duane Davis - Uno (Desolation Williams' brother) possessed and left outside. This really should have been resolved, this is just screaming for a brother on brother confrontation. Ice Cube fighting his way through Ghosts only to come face to face with his possessed brother and then having to put him out of his misery etc

And while Im at it...
Jason Statham as Jericho - there really should have been close up shot's of him being torn up by the Ghosts. Im not a big gore hound... but this seems like a really obvious thing to have in a horror film.

There are plenty of reasons to dislike this film - I personally consider it Carpenters weakest film - but these obvious additions really could have helped IMHO.

Do it Doug!!!!

No you didn't miss them. This film is riddled with bad writing. It's a shame because I actually think that with some tweaks that it could have been quite good. I enjoy the cast, the atmosphere, and even the practical special effects (Practical effects in 2001!)are (IMO) a lot better than the CGI crap that modern Sci-Fi has become.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...

I don't think there was much of a point in showing what happened to them, especially the first two people, since they were minor characters. Once they were possessed it's basically over and their fates were sealed. Desolation couldn't put his brother out of his misery because he knew the ghost would just fly into another body.

I didn't need more gore with Jericho to be satisfied. We just saw Bashira getting her head chopped off a minute ago. That was fine for me.

Whitlock was a minor character? As if. She was completely important to the script, as she was really the only one that knew how to stop them. She was the one solely responsible for it starting.

Um, where did you hear that she knew "how to stop them"? She started it all (comically.. "OOPS A DOOR MADE OF DUST") but she herself admitted that she didn't know how to stop the "ghosts" (remember, when she was asked if nuke blast would kill them, she basically said "I don't know").

She wasn't really a important character in the end (anyone could've touched that stupid door instead of her and started it).
