For me, this was like House of the Dead on Mars.
Everything from the bad acting, strange dialogue, setting, plot progression, and oddly placed rock music. It reminded me of HotD 2 years prior to HotD happening. Maybe Uwe Boll secretly directed this.
Okay...but yeah, you're wrong. :P House of the dead literally had scenes from a 90s video game forcibly inserted into the film.. You're comparing a John Carpenter movie...to a Uwe Boll movie? I know people like to jump on the bashing band wagon, but you've gone waaaay over the top here.

I love Carpenter for the most part, but his last two films were awful. Almost as bad as his first film. Either he lost his touch or it was on purpose, but either way, GoM was garbage and not up to par with the bulk of his works. And I loved L.A.

shareThis movie was meant as another Snake Plissken vehicle. Its original name was Escape From Mars. Imo it's more of a sci-fi remake of carpenter's own Assault on Precinct 13 though.
