I can't believe I'm saying this........

Jennifer Lopez really surprised me in Angel Eyes. Oh, I'd seen the Wedding Planner and thought she was okay in a romantic comedy--way better than Julia Roberts, for instance--but I didn't know if she could handle drama. Now I rented the movie because of Jim Caviezel and figured I would just endure J-Lo as the price you have to pay but...........she was actually competent, if not pretty good.

I think the problem is that she leads such a foolish personal life that people's disgust carries over to her professional life. She'd do herself a huge favour if she stopped the shenanigans and focussed on her career.

yeah, i agree. she's actually a very talented actress! i don't have anything bad to say about her work in films ... though some of her films are *beep* and cliched, her acting isn't bad at all! she just has to quit her lousy "singing" career then people will be able to take her seriously and appreciate her acting.

I totally agree. I think she is overexposed but not untalented. I loved her in Selena and Out of Sight too. The Wedding Planner and Maid in Manhatten aren't her fault. Bad movies are just bad movies. If you like Angel Eyes, definitely see Out of Sight. It's Steven Soderbergh doing his cool cameras/witty dialogue thing while George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez have fantastic chemistry.

i do not dislike jlo but i think this may be the worst movie i have ever seen

Worst movie you have ever seen? I can think of tons of movies that are the "worst" and this is not one of them...

This movie was original, great plot, and best of all, great acting. JLO and Jim were fantastic. I agree, JLO needs to pay more attention to her acting career, she is a true dramactic actress. She also did great in Selena and Enough. She CANNOT sing... but she can dance and that is were she should leave it.

This movie made me cry and I loved it so much, I bought it on DVD! Jlo, go back to drama acting!! Your great!

I really like Jennifer but i will be reallly glad if she'll stop her singer carrer and just do movie !! because she's very talented !! And I think Angel Eyes is a good movie and she is great in it like Jim !!

JLo is a good actor. That has been proven in a number of films, mostly her earlier ones.
What surprises me is that this movie didn't do better in the box office, but then again the trailer for the film had people believing this was some supernatural-horror-love-story instead of a tight, original little drama about people letting go of their demons and moving on with their lives.

Ha! I totally believed this! I thought I was the only one! I remember feeling a little disapointed because I kept waiting and waiting for the twist in the plot, but it never happened. Way back when I rented this, me and my sister just kind of didn't say much when it ended, but I think she must've been thinking the same thing also. But lo and behold, it was just a nice little movie like smoke0 described and I'm beginning to appreciate more.

i always liked jennifers acting since i seen selena which was years ago way before angel eyes so i think jennifer proved her point at acting a long time ago.

We would all do ourselves a huge favor if we stopped focusing on the personal lives of strangers just because they are celebreties and pay more attention to their work.

Yeah, I agree. Who are we to judge what's a 'foolish' personal life and what isn't? How's about we put each of the people's personal lives who wrote on this thread out in the open and see how 'foolish' they'd look? I'd be the first to admit it. You never know how you can handle living with cameras in your face every moment 'till you do it.

Regardless, I don't get what her foolish-or-not personal life has to do with her acting at all. Also, I'll add that I really don't mind her singing career myself. She doesn't have a voice like... Shakira, or even that Fantasia girl, but it's pleasant enough for me to not change the radio station when she's on.
