Angel Eyes vs The Wedding Planner

Since Angel Eyes and The Wedding Planner both came out the same year 2001. I was wondering which movie do people think was better. Ever time I ask someone this question they always say The Wedding Planner. Yet, the critics say that Angel Eyes was better and Angel Eyes also has a higher rating in imdb.com. I personally liked both, but I have to say that The Wedding Planner was much better it was funny and it had a happy ending unlike Angel Eyes.

Sorry, I missed the unhappy ending to Angel Eyes. Seems they both came to terms with their unhappiness and found happiness with each other.

reply

Yeah, they both "made peace". You could tell that her father was starting to come around after her story to the camera, and Catch giving the toys away means that he's over it.

It's hard for me to compare both movies b/c Angel Eyes is a drama and Wedding Planner is a romantic/comedy. I think Wedding planner did well at the box office and Angel Eyes flopped, but if I have to pick one I'd choose Angel Eyes.

I agree this is one of Jen Lopez's better performance and not only that she did her own stunt in the scene where she's chasing the guy who shot her friends at the restaurant, that was really her climbing that fence with ease and fast b/c her stunt woman couldn't do it.

THE WEDDING PLANNER!!!!! It was such a great movie and was actually pretty funny. I think Ms. Lopez should stick to the romantic comedy genre because she plays thoses parts better. More believable I guess. Just my opinion though.

'Angel Eyes' is sooo much better. 'The Wedding Planner' was below her standard performance, IMO. Of course it did well in the box office, because it's a rather 'shallow', entertaining and typical peppy romantic comedy. 'Angel Eyes' dealt with more serious/deep situations and therefore didn't attract the mass audience.

But hey, that's just what I think.

I think that, Angel eyes is a better movie than The Wedding Planner. Dont get me wrong, J.Lo did a good job in it and it was a funny movie, but Angel eyes was 10 times better. It's sad that it didn't do well in the box office, because you could feel the emotions of the situations, and understand the feelings of the characters. I think that the wedding planner is more for humor, and Angel eyes is more, realistic. Angel eyes is just better!

I love jennifer lopez and i liked the two movies (i have them on dvd). Jennifer was funny in The Wedding Planner. I don´t know why it had bad critics but i laughed a lot (when she´s drunken for example).

Even though The Wedding Planner received bad reviews, most of the critics praised her performance in it.

"The Wedding Planner' for sure. While AE is dark and more dramatic, it lacks any emotional connection between the characters Sharon & Catch.

1. Angel Eyes all the way. The Wedding Planner has to be one of the crappiest romantic comedies I've ever seen.
2. How does Angel Eyes not have a happy ending? (SPOILER) Catch faces the accident that killed his wife and child and finally admits to Sharon that he does love her. He's even okay about driving again. I mean, come on ...

ANGEL EYES FOR SURE.

I will always take "Angel Eyes" over "The Wedding Planner." I know a lot of people like TWP, but it was terrible writing, and it wasn't that well acted either.

I thought AE was superb. I thought it dealt with situations that were great and how two people with troubled pasts, unable to get over them, can come together and help each other through them. It had a great message, and I think the ending was far from sad. I think it was quite happy. I also think the two monologues that each character gave were fabulous. They were well written and well acted.
