Kill off Trever, did they?? However, if you listen to the commentary during the movie, the director or writer explains why they had to let him die.

They didn't NEED to kill Trevor. In "Pay it Forward", There was a story being done by Jay Mohr on "The Movement" which started with Trevor... and it was being broadcast over the news. I think that they killed him to make this story bigger in the movie... it's not just an 11 year old kid's idea anymore, it became his legacy.

yeah, I guess that would make it more meaningful and he probably even got huge media attention after he died. I just hope that punk he killed him was put in prison for a very long time. Kids like that don't belong with other children.
