Why does she say she doesn't have a car when Jerry fixed her truck?

When Trevor runs away, his mom calls the cops and then says, "If I had a car I'd be out looking for him!" In an earlier scene, we see Jerry fix her truck and he tells her maybe now she can sell it "now that it works." We see this truck in her garage after she slaps Trevor and goes looking for booze, just before he runs away. So why didn't she just use her truck? Then she calls Mr Simonet to ask him to drive her around looking for Trevor. Did I miss something here?

I thought that at first too and then I remember seeing that the truck had no wheels on it at the back.

^^ Yeah, there were no wheels on the back. I thought I also noticed that there was smashed glass instead of the passenger side window.

I think also that there could have been a remnant of her alcoholism in there too. If she's been a drunk for a long time, she may have got the the point where she lost her license for DUI. Or her license expired and she'd rather spend money on booze than purchasing a new license or tyres.
