The poor animation and wierd looking characters gave me a wierd vibe as a 5-6 year old kid, and I loved the show because it reminded me alot of the Sega Genesis games. One part that was wierd to me was when it showed a bunch of people sneezing all over the place and I had no idea why. I have since found out it was a sneeze bomb by Scratch and Grounder, haha.

Anybody else find this show bizarre as a kid?

No, I always loved it. Regarding the "weird looking characters", what cartoons did you watch that didn't weird you out? Because 80-85% of the cartoons I grew up watching had weird looking characters. It's not exactly the medium you look to for normalcy.
