Romance

Mr Glass seemingly tries to seduce Ruby, but also subsequently retrains her for sedation and ultimately tries to trick her into going on a Death ride.

I was a bit puzzled my Glass's motivation throughout the movie:

Is he trying to seduce Ruby to sleep with him, because Mrs. Glass is a druggie and not satisfying him physically?

Is he trying to seduce Ruby to seemingly have an affair with him, only to betray her and compound the charges against her? He types her a report, after all, and gets her caught Plagiarizing.

Why does Glass kill the parents? For the money for his cars? It would seem that a person of his social standing should be able to borrow money through better means than loansharks, though.

The Glass antagonistic was left largely underdeveloped as a character.

I know this was posted in 2004, but put spoiler in your subject ;) I'm watching it right now and I abosolutely hate Glasses character. He's creepy and I would rather run away then stay in the same house :P I couldn't tell you why he was acting like he wanted to sleep with Ruby.

I felt the sexual tension between Ruby and Mr. Glass, as well. I think he was just attracted to her at first, but when she started to unveil his plan and fight back, he lost his interest.

As for Glass's modivation, he killed the Bakers so that when he and Mrs. Glass killed Ruby and Rhett, they would obtain the millions of dollars the Bakers left for the children upon their death. He would then take those millions to repay whomever those guys who were harrassing him throughout the movie worked for.

I think Stellan Skarsgård does an amazing of conveying the "cool dad" image in the beginning, but then becoming a complete maniac as the movie progresses. Glass House is not an Oscar-worthy movie, no, but it is a good thriller and has some great performances in it.
