question about one part in the movie

When Erin (Diane Lane) says that she is going to lose her medical liscence and she and terry are arguing, and he mentions that erin "stuck her hand in the cookie jar" and the line where erin says "not until you did what you did' and terry replies "where were you when I did it?" that part I still do not understand. can someone explain. thanks

terry when he says "where were you when i did it" i think it implies that erin was also behind the 'deadly' plot and did not try to stop Terry.

hope it helps

I'm with you there. Since in the next scene she is watching the vacation video I wondered if he abused the girl as a child and that's why the families drifted apart. Now I think she is only referring to setting up the minder. It seems like one of the few things that is not made painfully clear in this movie .

it implies that he sabotaged the car and she was either aware of his plans beforehand and did nothing to stop him or that she was actually there with him when he did it

it's also possible that he drove out there to chase them in the sabotaged car in order to ensure they had an accident, in which case the conversation could have meant she was in the passenger seat with him
