Constant rain WTF??

I live in SoCal and it doesn't rain that much. I know rain makes things seem more dark and dramatic but come on.

I thought the same thing.

What made it worse for me was the scene about half way through when Ruby stole the car and the stepdad argued with Ruby, you could clearly tell that the water was coming straight onto the door's windows to suggest it was standing still yet cars were supposed to be going passed to show that the car was moving by all the lights going passed the windows. Sloppy film making.

yea thats the first thing ive noticed. ive lived here for 6 months and its rained maybe twice, and not that hard of a downpour ever.

Good post. The weather is absurd for Malibu. It rained more in this movie than the last three years in So Cal.

The rain was so fake (literally and figuratively) it doesn't rain that much and that hard in CA LoL
It's just a cheap attempt to make the movie more "scary suspenseful and thriller " like

Least of a concern with the movie, dude.

I know it was just for effect in the movie, but the spring of 2000 (the grave markers said March 2000) was an exceptionally wet year here in central California. I'm a teacher and I remember it raining throughout the winter and spring....even on the last day of school in June when it's usually already time for random 100 degree days....Could have been the same in SoCal.

I have lived in southern California for more than 50 years, not counting time spent elsewhere such as time in the military. There are times when it rains for days.

In February/early March of 1938 in Los Angeles it rained more than 11 inches in 5 days, nearly six inches in one day.

In 1965 in Los Angeles there was more than 15 inches of rain in November and December. Then in 1967 there was nearly 9 inches of rain in November.

In 1995 there was more than 12 inches in January.

In 1998 there was nearly 14 inches in February.

In the rain season of 2004-05 Los Angeles got more than 37 inches of rain.
