I didn´t understand how Terry and Erin were supposed to get the children´s money

shareAH Ok. So why didn´t Terry pay the money to the "bad guys" instead of waiting until they almost killed him?
sharebecause he could only withdraw the money for expenses for things the kids needed and he could only withdraw so much and only if it was for emergencies and he owed the bad guys sooo much money and the people in charge of the trust wouldn't let him withdraw anymore.

shareYou are not supposed to get it. Most movies have parts that are not realistic, some more than others. In real life it is not likely that foster parents like that would get away with staling a large amount of funds. Think about it; if it was possible, then many crooks would do it so of course they must do things to prevent it.
