because in the movie a girl gets into a car crash on Mulholland Drive.
Did anyone else see any more refrences to David Lynch?

watching the movie right now and noticed mullholland dr. when ruby was looking on the internet regarding the car accident.
I don't think it was a ref. to David Lynch. I think they used Mulholland Drive in the crash simply because it is a super dangerous road. I've heard statistics stating there are like 50 crashes or something like that on that road per year. I think it was used simply because it is such a well known and dangerous road that no one would have thought it weird or suspect that a car crash resulting in death would occur on it. Just my thoughts though.

shareMulholland Drive is definitely a real place. It is very well known here in the Los Angeles area. It is a road going about 21 miles along the ridgeline between the Los Angeles basin (including Hollywood) and the San Fernando Valley. It has some fantastic views and therefore has some of the most expensive homes in the world. Movie stars live on or near Mulholland Drive.
The Eastern end of Mulholland Drive is at the Hollywood (101) Freeway near (about two miles from) the Hollywood sign. Much of the Western end cannot be driven by car but much of the portion that can be driven has many curves and can be dangerous. Motorcyclists in particular drive dangerously on Mulholland Drive.
Mulholland Drive connects with the Laurel Canyon and Hollywood Hills areas that are also famous for being where the famous live. If you visit Hollywood, you are not likely to see any celebrities in the areas that tourists consider to be Hollywood. If you go just a few miles away in the Mulholland Drive, Laurel Canyon and Hollywood Hills areas then you will at least be where the celebrities live.
If you search for Mulholland Drive then you will quickly discover how much there is about it.
